Acorn Hills Animal Center
Our Vet Has Been Serving Amador County for 30+ Years
Preventative Care
Keeping your pet healthy and happy, 24/7, is our priority at Acorn Hills Animal Center and at our on-premise Amador Veterinary Emergency Clinic. Located in Sutter Creek, CA, our team is proud to serve the canines and felines of Amador County and the surrounding areas. We offer a wide range of preventative services, and to catch and treat those health issues that arise as quickly as possible, before they become larger problems. We encourage pet owners to schedule routine checkups for their pet at least once a year so they can receive necessary vaccines, tests, and a thorough examination.
The State-of-the-Art Care Your Pet Deserves
Dentistry
Clean teeth and a healthy mouth aren’t just important for humans—your pet requires dental care, too. By neglecting your pet’s dental care, your dog or cat can develop gum disease, loosened teeth, discomfort, and other problems. During your pet’s routine checkup, we will examine the mouth to determine their oral health. We will thoroughly clean your pet’s teeth and gums, and if necessary, we can perform extractions of damaged, decayed or infected teeth.
Digital Radiography
Digital x-rays are a diagnostic tool we use to determine abnormalities or developing problems inside the body. As compared to traditional radiography, digital x-rays emit significantly reduced levels of radiation, creating a safer experience for your pet. Plus, there’s no need to wait for the images to develop—they can be viewed immediately on a computer screen and saved for future reference.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is another diagnostic tool we use to view the inside of your pet’s body. This is a safe, comfortable procedure that uses ultrasonic waves to create an image of the internal organs, especially the soft tissues, allowing us to view any developing issues.
In-House Bloodwork
Using our state-of-the-art in-house laboratory, we are able to perform blood tests and analyze the samples in a shorter period of time than if we had to send the samples out to a lab to be examined. Through bloodwork, we are able to determine chemical abnormalities, blood cell count, endocrine levels, liver and kidney function, certain diseases, and more.
Spay/Neuter
We perform routine spay/neuter procedures to help not only control the pet population, but to prevent your pet from developing potentially deadly reproductive diseases. We will discuss with you the best age for your puppy or kitten to be spayed or neutered.
